Filming Style - Final Choices
My initial filming style choice was to a point of view that told a story throughout the music video, but instead I chose to do a tracking video instead, this followed the life of two different boys and throughout followed as if they didn't know the camera was there, at points the characters would look behind them and look around as if to say someone is following them, but would never really have any direct eye contact with the camera or the audience.
The reason I changed from POV filming style to tracking shots and medium close-ups was that the point of view filming style didn't give any real interaction or emotion with the main character, you only saw what they say and didn't get any of their reactions of views when it came to certain situations. So I think changing to the tracking shots shows the characters better and sort of gives the audience a chance to judge them and have a guess and whats going to happen throughout to these mysterious characters that we hardly see at times and then for long periods of time at the start and in the middle of the music video.
I had taken into account that maybe doing a point of view from the two main characters would have helped develop the story whilst the audience get a first hand view of what the main characters are experiencing, but I think it would have taken too much time in the actual video itself to describe to the audience that it is two different character view points you are seeing and these two characters are some how linked and that what you see is varied.
